Benefits are determined based on need and may include:
  • basic dental care
  • diabetic supplies
  • eyeglasses
  • hearing aids
  • prescription drugs
  • surgical supplies and dressings
  • transportation for medical appointments
Eligibility
Members of Eabametoong First Nation 16-65 years of age
Individuals and families who:
  • were eligible for Ontario Works in the previous months, or
  • are no longer eligible for Ontario Works because they received a payment for loss of income under the 1986-1990 Hepatitis C Settlement Agreement

  • Community only accessible by air through Fort Hope Airport (Wasaya Airways) year-round, by water during warmer months or a 96-km ice road from community to Northern Ontario Resource Trail (extending north of Pickle Lake) main link road during winter months
  • Nearest large urban centres are Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay
