- Provides a monthly benefit to eligible Canadians who are unable to work at any job due to a disability
- Eligibility
- Individuals aged 18-64 years of age, who contributed recently to the Canada Pension Plan while they worked, and now are unable to work at any job on a regular basis because of a severe and prolonged disability
- Application Process
- Apply online (must also send a a consent form by mail), or print and complete an application from the website and mail it, or drop off completed forms at a Service Canada office
- Must have a physician fill out some documents
- Can take up to 120 days (4 months) to hear a decision on application
