- Description
- The Healthy Babies Healthy Children program provides home visits by a public health nurse to expectant mothers and new parents who need more support and can benefit from the program. A personal public health nurse can help parents with:
- A healthier pregnancy and birth
- Connecting to their baby
- Learning more about their child's development
- Making informed choices to support their child's health
- Breastfeeding, food and healthy nutrition
- Achieving parenting goals
- Connecting with services in the community
- Eligibility
- A screening/assessment process is used to identify eligible families. Eligible families may need extra help with:
- Prenatal health care
- Preparing for baby
- Making decisions about feeding the baby
- Building strong relationships
- Feeding toddlers
- The child's behaviour
- The child's growth and development
