Community-based children's mental health early intervention and treatment programs
- includes SNAP cognitive behavioural therapy and skills development
Camp Wimodausis
- specialized summer day camp for children ages 6 to 11 whose social and behaviour problems may prevent them from attending another summer day camp
- in small groups of six with two counsellors, children learn to use SNAP to manage their behaviour, exercise self-control and resolve problems
- fun and educational activities including arts and crafts, sports, music, swimming, special interest clubs, weekly field trips, nature hikes and theme days
SNAP Girls and SNAP Boys -- for children with behavioural problems, and their families
- skills development includes effective emotional regulation, self-control and problem solving
- individual counselling and/or mentoring for children who require extra support
- connects children and parents with community resources
- school advocacy and teacher support to assist children who are struggling behaviourally and/or not performing at their age-appropriate grade level
- assists in prevention of delinquency, school drop-out and teen pregnancy
SNAP Youth Justice -- prevention and intervention for at-risk youth
- reduce the risk of further contact with the law and/or gang membership, who are involved in the youth justice system, either in custody, on probation and/or in the community
SNAP for Schools
- 13-week in-class interactive digitized program
- students in grades 2-4 develop SNAP skills via socio-emotional learning to promote positive behavioural change such as healthy management of anger, bullying or peer pressure
- offered in partnership with Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board
- Eligibility
- Children 6-11 years who are exhibiting disruptive, aggressive, bullying or antisocial behaviour, and their parents
SNAP Youth Justice - male youth 12-19 years involved with youth justice system - Application Process
- Referral can be made at any time and families are contacted within 24 hours; referral by parents, teachers, social workers, police, or other professionals
