Description

Community mental health service for children and adolescents

  • serves children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, tic disorders, psychosis, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex mental health issues
  • treatment can include individual therapy, family counselling, group therapy, medication, psychiatric services and educational workshops

First Intervention Treatment Team (FITT)

  • for teens and adults under 35 years experiencing their first episode of psychosis
  • care includes assessment, treatment and case management services

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Clinic

  • assessment and treatment for children and adolescents up to 17 years with ADHD
  • service navigation/case management
  • parent and teacher educational workshops

Link Program - supports young people between 18 and 24 years old who are experiencing difficulties related to severe mental illness; services include:

  • needs assessment, information and referral to community services
  • brief counselling focused on stabilization and psychoeducation
  • strength-based resiliency group, access to psychiatry as needed

Slaight Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Program

  • provides DBT to adolescents and young adults 14-24 years
  • voluntary treatment program
  • DBT is a structured psychotherapy program for individuals who have difficulties managing their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours
Eligibility
Shoniker Clinic --serves children and adolescents with mental health issues under 18 years
  • First Intervention Treatment Team (FITT) - Scarborough adolescents and adults 14-34 years experiencing first episode of psychosis
  • ADHD Clinic - children and adolescents 17 years and under
  • Link Program - youth and young adults 14-24 years
  • Slaight DBT Program - youth and young adults 14-24 years
