Description

Cares for individuals who have a developmental disability with a significant cognitive delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or who are living with the effects of an acquired brain injury

Behavioural Services

  • for children, youth and adults with a developmental disability with a significant cognitive delay showing behaviour challenges interfering with ability to participate in activities of daily living who reside in York Region or Simcoe County
  • after behaviour assessment, behaviour support plan created including prevention, skill building and intervention
  • individual and/or group support may be offered

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Assessment and Diagnostic Collaborative

  • for children, youth and adults where prenatal exposure to alcohol is suspected

Program for Assessment and Treatment for Healthy Sexuality Clinic (PATHS)

  • for children, youth and adults with confirmed intellectual disability who have engaged in concerning or offensive sexual behaviour living in York Region or Simcoe County
  • promotes healthy sexuality and reduces problematic sexual behaviours through individual assessment and treatment

York-Simcoe Brain Injury Services

  • for persons age 16 and older, diagnosed with an acquired brain injury living in York Region, Simcoe County or Muskoka
  • assessment, case management and rehabilitation support
  • run in partnership with March of Dimes Canada

Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Adult Day Program

  • for persons aged 18 and older, diagnosed with an acquired brain injury who are medically stable living in York Region or South Simcoe
  • therapeutic environment with activities including physical health programming, cognitive activities and social activities

Adult Day Program

  • for persons age 18 and older with an acquired brain injury living in York Region
  • therapeutic and social activities
  • 3 community locations in Vaughan, Maple and Newmarket
