Supportive Transitional Apartments for Youth (STAY Program)
Affordable housing for youth transitioning to independent living- capacity 11
- 3 apartments at Richmond Hill Youth Hub
- 1 all gender suite, 1 female suite, 1 male suite
- can stay for a period not exceeding 364 days or until their goals for independent living are accomplished (whichever comes first)
Transitions
Locates affordable market rent, community based units across York Region for youth participants with the goal to help youth build capacity to pay market rent over a period of time
Housing Support Program
Housing Support worker assists youth in transitioning between locations, conducting housing searches, completing government applications, community referrals, and information on shelters and similar programs- Eligibility
- Youth 16-26 years
STAY and Housing Support Program: youth who require housing support, have a legal source of income, and are willing to work on a transitional support plan
Transitions: youth must be working (full time or part time) OR attending post secondary OR a skilled trades apprenticeship program, and be willing to enter into a Transitional Support Plan - Application Process
