Community Connections Program
- Description
Group activities, including
- English Conversation Circles to improve English language skills
- summer walking group for newly arrived immigrants and refugees of all ages to help orient them to their new community and establish social and professional networks
- volunteer mentors assist with focus on settlement in the community, civic engagement, language skills development
- newcomer social programming
- Eligibility
- Volunteers must be 19 years or older and have a minimum of three years living experience in Canada, able to assist new immigrants learn about the system and services available, fairly fluent in English
