Peel Public Health works with local community health centres and the Ministry of Health to provide dental care for eligible seniors through the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP)
OSDCP replaced the Region of Peel Seniors' Dental Program
Program covers:- examinations, preventive services, X-rays
- restorative services to repair broken teeth and cavities
- oral surgery to remove teeth or abnormal tissue, anesthesia
- endodontic services to treat infection and pain
- periodontal services to treat gum conditions and diseases
- prosthodontic services, including dentures, is partially covered
Once an application is approved, clients are mailed a welcome package and a dental card. In Peel, the program is in effect only at certain dental centres. Valid dental card must be presented at the time of appointment. Coverage must be renewed yearly, see website for details.
Due to demand, there is a waitlist to receive routine OSDCP services in Peel until further notice. To add a name to the waitlist or for help with the application, call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700- Eligibility
- Residents of Ontario, 65 years or over, who have no access to any other form of dental benefits (other than the Canadian Dental Care Plan) such as private insurance or other government programs; check website for current income requirements for program
