Peel Public Health - Healthy Smiles Ontario
- Description
Government-funded dental program that provides free preventive, routine, and emergency dental services for children and youth 17 years old and under from low-income households
Services included- check ups; X rays; scaling; cleaning
- fillings; extractions
- urgent and emergency care
Tooth whitening and braces are not covered by the program
Children enrolled under emergency and essential care must re-apply after 6 months, see website for details- Eligibility
- Children may join this program if they:
are age 17 and under
live in Ontario
come from a household with an income that is at or below certain levels; check website for current income levels
Children are automatically enrolled in the program if they or their families are receiving assistance from Temporary Care Assistance, Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities, Ontario Works (unless living in a First Nations community) or Ontario Disability Support - Application Process
