Types of Support

• offers emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual support to individuals of all ages and their families faced with a terminal illness and bereavement
• helps families in navigating complex emotions and offers guidance and tools to help individuals cope with impending loss and grieving process
• assists in initiating difficult conversations, exploring options for end-of-life care, and helping individuals understand physical and emotional changes that may occur as death approaches
• offers information about community resources and works closely with care team addressing holistic needs of patients and families, ensuring effective communication and coordination of services

Services

• short-term individual counselling related to death and dying for adults and children
• spiritual care
• in-home volunteer program (respite, companionship)
• wellness program including complementary therapies such as aromatherapy, reiki, therapeutic touch
• Help Us Understand Grief (HUUG): children and youth program for anticipatory grief and bereavement
• Social Connections: weekly in-person program for individuals with palliative diagnosis
