- Description
Clients enrolled in the STOP (Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients) study receive nicotine replacement therapy, including nicotine gum, lozenges, inhalers or patches, free of charge and are monitored throughout the quitting process
- delivered by team of health care providers, with specialized training in smoking cessation
- interact closely with patients and their physicians
- Eligibility
- Individuals who are trying to quit or reduce their smoking who are registered patients of the Barrie Family Health Team Doctors/Nurse Practitioners
- Application Process
- Appointments are booked by calling the STOP Line at 705-737-9539
- callers will be asked to leave some information about themselves on the answering machine
- member of the Family Health Team will follow-up (usually within 1-2 business days) to book an appointment, provided caller meets the criteria for the program
