For animal cruelty complaints of abuse or neglect, the Provincial Animal Welfare Service (through the Ministry of the Solicitor General) has a 24/7 animal abuse hotline.

Call 9-1-1 for the following situations:- to report incidents of animals in distress or locked in a hot or cold vehicle
- any attack by an animal to people or other animals that requires emergency medical attention
