- Description
- The OPP is trusted to:
- patrol all provincial highways (including the 400-series highways)
- patrol numerous provincial waterways
- provide police service to any rural communities in Ontario that don't have their own municipal or regional police service
- provide administrative support to several First Nations Policing programs
- work closely with other provincial agencies, including the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Natural Resources to enforce highway safety and conservation regulations

Residency Requirements: Patrols over 30,000 square kilometers, extending from the District of Muskoka in the north to Lake Ontario in the south, and from Dufferin County in the west to Northumberland County in the east. - Application Process
