- Description
A 12-week structured program for at-risk children showing aggressive, defiant, and anti-social behavior, and their caregivers. Caregivers attend a parenting group where they are taught effective child management strategies through group discussion and reinforced through role-plays and home practice. The child will attend group sessions where they are taught self-control skills, emotion-regulation skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Eligibility
- Children ages 6-11, experiencing difficulty at home or school and showing physically and/or verbally aggressive behaviour, defiant behaviour, problems with family relationships, lack of self-control and problem-solving skills. SNAP program is not suited for children who have or are diagnosed with serious physical impairments, developmental delays, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, or Autism Spectrum Disorders.
