Description

Two transitional housing programs for youth

  • one for youth aged 16-18 (Jacky's Place) and one for youth aged 19-24 (Harris House)
  • clients can live at one of the properties for up to a year, paying nominal rent contribution, with the possibility of extension
  • intensive case management and life skills training
Eligibility
Youth 16-24 years, legal status in Canada
Must have some established sources of income or benefits to contribute to rent and living expenses, and have goals to expand their income to achieve self-sufficiency within the year
Application Process
Referral through the region's By-Name list, which requires a screening and intake process
Contact Durham Youth Services during office hours, to complete the process to be added to the By-Name List - a caseworker will work directly with clients around the application process
