Violence Against Women (VAW) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Emergency Shelter

  • 40-bed, trauma-informed emergency shelter providing safe, confidential accommodation
  • pet friendly; on-site kennel available for dogs and cats
  • 24/7 crisis intervention and emotional support
  • individual and group counselling
  • referrals, advocacy, and court accompaniment
  • personalized safety planning and service coordination
  • housing supports
  • children's programming
  • community education and outreach
  • transitional support services
    • assistance finding permanent affordable housing
    • help accessing subsidized childcare and local schools
    • school registration support
    • educational workshops, recreational activities, and outings
    • follow-up services for continued safety and well-being
Eligibility
Women, 2-Spirit, trans and non-binary individuals and their children experiencing violence
Residency Requirements: Greater Toronto Area

Documents Required
Preferred documents, if available: Government issued photo identification, identification for children, proof of residency
Survivors will not be denied service due to lack of identification; If documents are missing or unavailable due to emergency circumstances, staff will assist survivors in accessing replacement identification and completing required forms
