- Provide of up-to-date, accurate public health-related information to York Region residents, organizations and health care professionals. Public health professionals give confidential information on health-related topics, resources, services and community programs, including:
- family health -- pregnancy, breastfeeding, maternal mental health, feeding babies and children, sleep, injury prevention, parenting
- infectious disease -- disease outbreaks, vaccines, school immunizations and immunization records
- sexually transmitted infections -- reports on sexually transmitted infections, post exposure of blood-borne infections
- sexual health -- sexual health clinics, contraceptives, pregnancy tests
- health protection -- food safety, safe water, rabies, West Nile virus, health hazards
- dental health -- child and youth dental programs
