Seniors Tax Rebate Program


Description

Offers a property tax credit to older adults who own residential property in Hamilton.

Eligibility
Applicants or their spouse must be aged 65 or older on January first of the year for which they are applying, with a combined income of $43,740 or less. Applicant and/or their spouse occupy the residential property as the principal residence, and have owned the residential property for at least one year preceding the application date. The assessed value of the residential property must be at or below $505,694. Prior year property taxes are paid in full.
Application Process
Applications accepted throughout the year and until the last day of February of the year following. Limit of one credit per owner. Application forms are available online.
