Description

Midwives provide a balance of traditional and contemporary midwifery services and programs:

  • pregnancy tests
  • prenatal care
  • labour and birth care
  • home or centre births
  • educational and emotional support
  • postpartum care
  • breastfeeding support
  • pap tests

Programs available:

  • prenatal class
  • mom and tots group
  • female self-care
  • annual birth celebration
  • FASD/Child Nutrition Program
  • family/maternal resource library
  • Indigenous Midwifery Training Program

Application Process
Midwives do an initial assessment to determine if a woman's current pregnancy is low risk. If it is determined that a pregnancy is not low risk then the midwife will refer the client to an appropriate health care provider
