- Jordan's Principle is a child-first initiative that ensures substantive equality and equitable access to services for First Nations children and youth. Jordan's Principle Navigators are available to support families with the application process and coordinate supports after approval
- funding is needs-based, and therefore a request requires information on the unmet need and/or service gap in service along with a third party recommendation for a product or service that meets the need and/or fills the gap in service
- children do not require a diagnosis to access this funding
- Navigators will work with the family to obtain the necessary documentation for their funding request

- Eligibility
- First Nations children/youth under 18 years of age are eligible for Jordan's Principle if:
- they have status/are eligible for status
- they have a parent with status/that is eligible for status
- the child is recognized by their band for the purposes of Jordan's Principle
- Application Process
- Parents/guardians can refer, youth 16+ are able to self-refer, referrals from all service providers accepted
