Description
Provides culturally sensitive homemaking and assisted living care services to older adults living in their homes in Midland, Wasaga Beach, and Collingwood, services include:
  • light housekeeping
  • laundry
  • sweeping/mopping and dusting
  • personal hygiene care
  • medication support
  • meal preparation
Program is a partnership between March of Dimes Canada and Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle.
Eligibility
  • Individuals must self-identify as First Nation, Metis or Inuit
  • 55 years or older
  • income must be less than $20,000
  • Individual resides within Midland, Wasaga Beach or Collingwood (North Simcoe and South Georgian Bay)
Application Process
  • Call the Indigenous Independent Living Care worker (IILC) at 705-937-8231 or contact by email at [email protected]
  • IILC worker will meet with the individual to fill out intake and assessment forms and will identify needs and develop a plan of care
  • referral form can be filed out through self-referral, partnering agency, community organization or from a family physician
  • form can then be directly submitted to the IILC worker to confirm the eligibility
