During extreme weather events, this program operates for extended hours to provide respite from the elements. The regular drop-in program provides a daytime space for individuals to access resources, community connection and systems navigation support.

• Open 365 days a year
• Daytime drop-in hours 9 am-7 pm
• Overnight drop-in program 8 pm-8 am
• Lunch served daily at 2 pm

Water Refill Stations  

Outdoor water bottle filling stations are available at City facilities in the following locations: 

• Quaker Foods City Square, 215 Charlotte St. 
• Eastgate Park, 2150 Ashburnham Dr. 
• Peterborough Marina, 92 George St. N. 
• Beavermead Park washroom facilities, 2011 Ashburnham Dr. 
• Rogers Cove washroom facilities, 131 Maria St.  

Water bottles can also be refilled inside the following City facilities during hours of operation:

• Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr.

When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, rest areas are available to residents for relief from extreme weather conditions. These can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres during regular business hours. Other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could also be used.
