YMCA Hamilton Bridge to Work Program


Description

Free program for internationally trained teachers and early childhood educators. Program includes:

  • 2 week employment readiness training
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Introduction to child care centres, policy and procedures
  • 16 week work placement
  • One-on-one mentorship
Eligibility
Program applicants must: be internationally trained with experience teaching or working in a child care setting be a Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee, an individual whose Permanent Resident application has been approved in principle, or a foreign domestic workers admitted under the Live-In Caregiver program  have a Canadian English Language Benchmark of level 6 or higher
