Benefit payments are:- portable - benefits may be received even if moved to another address
- based on household income and local market rent
Households who are approved for this program must consent to be removed from the social housing waiting list - Eligibility
- Households which include:
- survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking
- people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
- Indigenous people
- seniors
- with disabilities
COHB eligibility is determined by the Ontario Ministry of Finance, all households who receive COHB must complete an Annual Renewal Application - Application Process

- on, or eligible to be on, the social housing waiting list
- living in social housing
