Description

Provides educational supports, life skills, peer connections, and adult allies to girls, non-binary, and gender-fluid youth.

  • Peer Check-in: Weekly text, email, or Instagram messages to chat, listen, provide support, help problem solve, and connect with resources.
  • Drop-in Youth Space: Join in activities, do homework, play video games, or hang out. Also provides snacks, hygiene items, and connection to resources.
  • Life Skills Workshops (Mondays): Topics include cooking healthy meals, confidence building, stress management, financial literacy, and more.
Eligibility
Open to all girls, non-binary, and gender-fluid youth in grades 7-10.
Application Process
Drop-in, no registration required for youth space or life skills workshops. Sign up for peer check-in on the website or by sending a message to @yweleap_checkins on Instagram.

The Putman Family YWCA is a 50 unit affordable permanent housing residence for single and mother-led families. Also offers spaces designed for community gathering, as well as a Centre of Innovation, community garden, flexible space for seniors and youth, recreational, health and wellness programming, and women and community led programming and workshops.
