Adult Court Support
Assists clients with mental health concerns who are in conflict with the criminal justice system- assessment and referrals
- assistance linking with appropriate services
- consultation, education, advocacy and linkages also available to family
Youth Court Support
Support for children and youth charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, who are considered low-risk offenders- includes diversion to treatment
- participation voluntary
Release from Custody Case Management
Intensive short-term case management for adults 18 years and older released from the Central East Correctional Centre- Eligibility
- Adult Court Support: individuals 19 years and older, struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues, currently or at time of charges; voluntary participation
Youth Court Support: youth 12-18 years, with mental health and/or addiction issues, currently or at time of charges; voluntary participation
Release from Custody Case Management: adults 18 years and older, living with mental health challenges and incarcerated at any provincial correctional institution, or having left within 3 months; voluntary participation
Residency Requirements: Court Support - low level charges in Durham Region, or residing in Durham Region with charges from other jurisdictions; Case Management - Durham Region - Application Process
