Homeowner Supports - Emergency Repair Program
- Description
Provides Métis low-to-moderate income homeowners with a one-time forgivable loan to complete emergency repairs and/or improve accessibility for persons with a disability (to a maximum of $15.000).
Additional funding may be available for households requiring high cost emergency replacement for septic systems, well water/well drilling, asbestos removal, mold remediation and foundations/structural only (certain criteria may apply)
- Eligibility
- Applicants must be a registered Métis Nation of Ontario citizen, and a homeowner on title with a household income below the program's income threshold. Additional eligibility criteria and application assessment will apply, and is available for review on the Métis Nation of Ontario website.
To earn loan forgiveness, applicants must maintain ownership as their primary full-time and sole residence for 5 years. Each year applicants must submit their yearly home insurance policy to the program to confirm residency. - Application Process
