- Description
Helps children and youth with confirmed Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis to develop skills through Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA)
Programs include
- Caregiver-Mediated Early Years Program (CMEY) - parents/caregivers learn strategies and techniques based on their child's needs
- Mackenzie Health Core Behaviour Clinical Services (CCS) - ABA-based clinical services
- Mackenzie Health Entry to School Program (ETS) - supports children with ASD 3-6 years who are entering kindergarten or grade one for the first time
- Mackenzie Health Foundational Family Services Workshops - workshops and short term consultations for parents and support people to increase knowledge of ASD
Mackenzie Health Urgent Response Service (URS)
Time-limited, rapid response service that addresses a specific need to prevent a child or youth with autism from harming themselves, others, or property including
- short-term interdisciplinary consultation to a child/youth's intervention team and/or family and/or educator(s)
- respite care
- direct support to the family and/or professionals involved to implement intervention and/or therapy techniques with the child/youth
- service navigation and coordination
- not a 24/7 crisis support service or a residential service; families requiring immediate support outside of regular business hours should go to their nearest emergency department
- Eligibility
- Children and youth 18 years and under with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
