Accessible Technology

• personalized support and training on how to set up and use assistive and accessible technology

• recommendations on what devices, assistive and accessible technology would be most beneficial for individuals and their needs

• support and access to experts with specialized knowledge about accessible and assistive technologies for mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and computers

• in partnership with TELUS Tech for Good

Digital Skills and Job Readiness

• independent, self-paced training available for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels to enhance digital skills

• role specific learning pathways

• job search support and mentorship assistance is available upon the completion of a certification or pathway

Digital Fundamentals

• support, provided by volunteers, to help individuals explore and learn the basics of understanding devices through a range of digital literacy topics including

  • general tasks such as texting, calling, emailing
  • new devices such as phone, tablet, or computer, and general features
  • video platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Skype, Facetime
  • Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, PowerPoint
  • Internet and social media
  • online safety, protecting privacy, recognizing scams, managing use (screen time, responsible use, etiquette)
  • online purchasing
  • understanding artificial intelligence (AI)
