KLH Housing:

Housing Services:

  • There is eligibility criteria for community housing. Income and asset limits will apply.

Homelessness Services:

  • Provides support and assistance to those experiencing homelessness and at risk of homelessness.

For emergency housing through a 19 bed emergency shelter, contact A Place Called Home.

Eligibility
  • Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have (or applied for) Permanent Resident Status in Canada, or be a Refugee Claimant.
  • At least one member of the household must be 16 years or older.
  • No one listed on the application can owe any other housing provider arrears of rent or damages. Satisfactory arrangements for repayment must be made prior to being placed on the waiting list.
  • No one listed on the application has been convicted (within the last two years) of a crime under the Criminal Code in regards to receipt of Rental Assistance.
  • Total household income cannot be greater than the Provincial Household Income Limits.
  • Applicants must be able to live independently or demonstrate that support services will be provided. Household assets must be within the $75,000 limit (this includes real estate).
  • Maximum Household Assets Procedure is the procedure that the City of Kawartha Lakes and all non-profit housing providers connected to the community housing waiting list and RGI units will use to determine eligibility for the community housing waiting list and RGI housing.

    Fill out an Application for Community Housing. Prior to being made eligible for the Community Housing waiting list or while on the Community Housing waiting list, client may be asked to complete a:
