- Description
A program administered by Halton Women's Place to protect pets from violence
- if a woman is seeking shelter and has a companion animal, the shelter will work closely with the client, local veterinarians, animal welfare agencies, pet boarding facilities and volunteers to help in keeping their pet safe
Services may include:
- any veterinary care or vaccinations that are needed
- safe transport out to a nearby kennel or boarding facility
- support in facilitating visits between women/children and their pets during their stay at Halton Women's Place
Initially created in collaboration with the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association
- funded through collaboration with PetSmart Charities through grant support and fundraising efforts where possible
