- Trained volunteers who help by providing practical assistance and emotional support * this allows family members to go out for a few hours or simply to rest * volunteers visit for 2-4 hours per week * in-home hospice volunteers may provide companionship, practical assistance, short-term respite care (a break for caregivers), life review and legacy work
