Offers resources, information, and supports related to oral health to residents of Halton Region

• oral health screenings by a Registered Dental Hygienist at schools, the community Public Health clinic, and in community settings (e.g. childcare settings, neighbourhood groups etc)
• in-person or virtual oral health screenings available for children under age 17 by appointment only
• oral health counselling and referrals to other agencies/services when needed
• oral health promotion and education in the community
• oral health resources for the long-term care sector
• oral health resources for teachers which are in line with learning blocks and strands of the Ontario Curriculum

Facilitates financial assistance for dental treatment for meet the eligibility criteria for:

• Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) - children under the age of 17
• Ontario Works and the Low-Income Adults dental programs - adults aged 18-64
• Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) - seniors age 65 and older

Information about the new Canada Dental Care Plan for eligible Canadians is available here, and is not facilitated through the Oral Health program at Halton Region Public Health.
