Six-week intensive outpatient program provided for children and youth aged 12-18 requiring mental health treatment and education services in a local community high school to prevent hospitalization or to support students as they transition from the inpatient unit into a community setting * program meets daily and provides group and individual-based care within a therapeutic classroom environment * team includes child youth counsellors, social work, psychiatrist, teachers and educational assistants

Services include:

• psychiatric assessment and treatment
• individual, group and family counselling
• academic programming is delivered by Halton District School Board teachers through individual and small group instruction * teachers will connect with the child's home school to get appropriate homework and make sure students receive credit for the work completed while in the program
• family support and education
• evidence-based practices including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT) with a focus on crisis management, symptom stabilization and skills development

Children and youth between the ages of 12 to 17 years old requiring intensive supports to prevent hospitalization or transition to the community
