Program allows family members or caregivers to provide police with important information about a vulnerable person to assist officers during an emergency
- stores details such as physical description, habits, behaviours, communication challenges, and specific needs
- supports police in safely locating or interacting with a vulnerable person during incidents such as wandering or crisis situations
- defines a vulnerable person as someone with a medical, mental health or physical condition that may pose a danger to themselves or others, including those with alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, acquired brain injury, or similar conditions
- sends an annual renewal reminder one month before expiry and requires families to update the registry information each year
- provides additional resources, including safety fact sheets and missing-person checklists for individuals with autism
- Eligibility
- Vulnerable persons whose medical, cognitive, mental health or physical condition may cause behaviours such as wandering, communication difficulties, or risky attractions (e.g., water, construction sites)

- parent(s), guardians, administrators and substitute decision makers are encouraged to submit a registration using the online application available
- anyone who does not have access to the internet is encouraged to visit any of the district police stations for assistance in registering
