Provides background screening services for employment, volunteering, and licensing, available online or through a computer kiosk at HRPS Headquarters

• offers online Police Record Checks for the most efficient processing
• provides in-person application support at HRPS Headquarters using a computer kiosk
• provides three types of checks: Criminal Record Check, Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check, and Vulnerable Sector Check
• explains the specific information included in each type of record check so applicants understand the differences
• directs applicants living or working outside Canada to obtain a record check from the RCMP using fingerprint submission

• must be a resident of Halton Region to apply online
• must provide two pieces of valid government-issued identification, including one piece with a photo

• apply online using the Police Record Checks portal or use the kiosk at HRPS Headquarters
• review the list of acceptable identification on the HRPS website before applying
• note that social insurance number cards are not accepted as identification
• understand that incomplete applications or applications requiring in-person follow-up remain active for up to 90 days before being considered abandoned
