- Description
Program introduces a temporary housing option for eligible newcomers in the community
- Burlington based apartments and townhouses for families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Provides temporary accommodation while residents search for permanent housing in Halton
- Placement is up to 12 weeks with a possibility of extension
- Rental Agreement is signed every three months with possibility of extension to up to one year
- Offers a wide range of services, including counseling, and referrals to other assistance programs
- Eligibility
- homeless or at risk of homelessness
- whole family or a sole support person with children
- have explored other accommodation alternatives
- a legal immigrant (Permanent Resident – PR Card Holder, Refugee Claimant, Convention Refugee) or Canadian Citizen
- at least one adult member of the family should have a level 4+ proficiency in English
- secured source of income

- Call Halton Region at 311 or 905-825-6000 to discuss shelter options and referral to HMC if there are available vacancies
- HMC will not accept applications directly from clients, referrals come directly from Halton Region
