Essential Skills for Employment


Description

Offer a variety of part-time programs for adults who require upgrading in reading, writing, basic math and essential digital skills for employment, and further education or training.

RSW+ Adult Tutoring program:

  • reading, writing and basic math up to Grade 8 level
  • essential skills for work and further training

CSW Computer Skills for Work program:

  • in-person, instructor-led, small group classes
  • introduction to Windows, MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), file management, email, Internet, and business communications

Sheridan College ACE Academic and Career Entrance program:

  • in partnership with Sheridan College
  • Grade 12 College level OSSD equivalent courses in English, Math, Biology and Chemistry
  • prepare for college entrance or Mature Student Test
  • qualify for apprenticeship and prepare for apprenticeship testing

CAEC Test Preparation

  • prepare to write the new CAEC Canadian Adult Education Credential Test, a high quality education credential that replaces the GED® Test
  • for adults who do not have a high school diploma and are seeking access to employment prospects, education pathways, or training opportunities.

HSW Essential Skills for Healthcare Support Worker Employment program:

  • build job-ready communication, digital and numeracy skills
  • gain valuable healthcare industry knowledge - home care and long-term care sectors
  • earn industry recognized certificates and build an employment portfolio

SWS Essential Skills for Work Success

  • supports essential employability skills building and introduces foundational career planning for successful transitions to next level stable employment
