- Description
Provides short-term crisis stabilization to children and youth under age 18 and their families. Staff meet with individuals in the environment of their choice, such as at home or school. The team makes initial contact within 48 hours of receiving a referral
- provides parents and caregivers with skills to handle family situations better and increase their confidence in responding to behaviour in a positive way
- strengthens coping skills
- provides referrals to internal and external resources that will build family resilience
- reduces the need for ongoing counselling intervention
To respond to higher-risk situations, COAST partners with Brantford City Police and Brant County OPP
